The July 2013 Bar Exam: The Massachusetts Bar Exam Results Have Been Posted

A total of 2195 applicants sat for the July 2013 bar examination, of whom 1806 (82.3%) passed. There were 1994 first time takers, of whom 1748 (87.7%) passed the exam. The 2nd time taker pass rate was 33.3%, the 3rd time taker rate was 34.4%; the 4th time taker pass rate was 38.9%; and the fifth time or more taker rate was 7.3%.

The law school statistics were:

Boston College Law School: first time taker pass rate: 95 %, second time taker pass rate: none; Overall pass rate: 94%

Boston University Law School: first time taker pass rate: 95 %, second time taker pass rate: 0%; Overall pass rate: 95 %

Harvard Law School: first time taker pass rate: 96%, second time taker pass rate: none; Overall pass rate: 96%

Massachusetts Law School: first time taker pass rate: 59%, second time taker pass rate: 17%; Overall pass rate: 38%

New England Law School: first time taker pass rate: 91%, second time taker pass rate: 67%; Overall pass rate: 89%

Northeastern University Law School: first time taker pass rate: 88%, second time taker pass rate: 67%; Overall pass rate: 86%

Suffolk Law School: first time taker pass rate: 85 %, second time taker pass rate: 38%; Overall pass rate: 81%

University of Massachusetts School of Law: Dartmouth: first time taker pass rate: 72%, second time taker pass rate: 43%; Overall pass rate: 67%

Western New England School of Law: first time taker pass rate: 74%, second time taker pass rate: 38%; Overall pass rate: 64%

All Other Law Schools: first time taker pass rate: 89%, second time taker pass rate: 37%; Overall pass rate: 84%
