Federal Civil Procedure, the February 2015 Bar Exam, and the Bar Professors Seminars on the MBE and Federal Civil Procedure

Please look at our seminars, MBE programs and Bar Exam Tutors at www.barprofessors.com.

The MBE has undergone a dramatic reconstruction with Federal Civil Procedure to be tested starting on the February 2015 MBE. The exam will add 27 multiple-choice questions in the area of Federal Civil Procedure, while the remaining subjects will be reduced to 27 questions each, with contracts, having 28 questions. The total number of questions tested will be 200. This change is the most significant in the last 30 years. These changes will present new challenges for the repeat bar taker in strategy, approach, preparation and test taking techniques. In response, Bar Professors has redesigned its instructional delivery, addressing this important subject in its curriculum development. This addition and reapproach will help the repeat taker be most effective on the MBE. For Federal Civil Procedure, 75% of the questions will cover: jurisdiction and venue, pretrial procedures and motions and 25% of the questions address federal courts, appeals and review, jury trials and verdicts and judgments. This addition to our MBE Program will include:

• A detailed outline addressing tested areas
• One-on-one instructional tutorial
• Federal Civil Procedure multiple-choice questions
• Feedback on factual and legal analysis that “turn” the call of the question
• Specific test taking techniques unique to Federal Civil Procedure

Bar Professors has created a specific program for its students addressing this newly tested subject. Please go to our website, http://www.barprofessors.com for more information.

In addition, Bar Professors will be conducting MBE seminars, with special emphasis on Federal Civil Procedure, in the fall. Please go to our website, http://www.barprofessors.com to sign up for these important and valuable seminars.

The California Baby Bar Results Were Released on Friday

Please look at our seminars, MBE programs and Bar Exam Tutors at www.barprofessors.com.

The California First Year Law Students’ Exam has been mailed out on Friday. Good luck to those students who are awatiing their results. The pass rate for the FYLSE is very low, but we can help you with our tutorials.

In the last FYLSE, in October 2013, the first time pass rate was 23.5% and the repeat bar taker rate was 16.2%. Overall, the pass rate was 19.2%

The reason students fail the California FYLSX is because they have trouble with legal analysis and reasoning.
BarProfessors can help you pass the California Baby Bar. Contact us and we will help you with your writing and analytical skills.

To those waiting for results, good luck.

The July 2014 Bar Exam: The Bar Exam is Over, Would You Have Done Anything Differently?

Please look at our seminars, MBE programs and Bar Exam Tutors at www.barprofessors.com.

The bar exam is over and the waiting begins. Before you get your results, you may want to reflect on how you may have done your studying differently. Law schools and bar exam companies never fully prepare you for the “experience” of taking a bar exam. It is something you have never done before and you go into the unknown, always hoping you did what you needed to do to pass the bar exam. I had one student tell me that she didn’t “get it” until she sat at the bar exam and the proctor gave the signal to begin.

What would you tell a fellow student who is gearing up to take the February 2015 bar exam? Would you tell that student to study harder or differently? Would you tell your friends to start studying earlier? I am also convinced that the way you studied for the bar exam will reflect the way you approach your job as a lawyer. To be a good lawyer you must put your sweat, time and effort into your cases – this is what separates you from all the other lawyers out there. Can you say that you put it all on the table when you sat for the bar exam? Will you put in the same effort you did studying for the bar exam when you get your bar license?
