  2. My son got his results yesterday and they were Pass Pass Pass. However he was not authorized to be sworn in. What are some of the common reasons for that?

    1. From the Florida Bar Exam website:
In order to be “Authorized to be Sworn in”, you must pass the General Bar Examination and the MPRE, and your background investigation must be complete. If you have not been authorized to be sworn in, the letter containing your examination results will advise you of the reasons you have not been authorized to take the oath.

    2. The Board hasn't cleared his character and fitness application and/or he hasn't passed the MPRE.

  3. I saw that on their website. He has passed the MPRE. I was wondering what might be some of the common reasons that the background check might be incomplete. It looked like about half of the applicants who passed were not authorized to be sworn in. That seems like a high number. I am guessing that it has something to do with minor paperwork not being completed.

  4. It turned out that the reason for not being authorized to be sworn in is that the Bar started processing his application less than six months ago and are not finished yet. Apparently they are running behind in their processing.
