July 2012 Florida Bar Exam Results: The New Tested Subjects for the Florida Bar Exam

Last week we discussed the new tested subjects on the Florida bar exam for February 2013. The main concern for the students I talked to was Article 3 and Article 9 of the UCC. Unfortunately, many students did not take the two subjects during law school and must learn it anew. Additionally, the repeat bar taker did not learn the subject through their bar review course and are now facing the prospect that they will have to learn the two subjects, along with prepping to take the Florida bar exam again.

We will discuss the subjects in more depth at a later date, but if you can’t answer these questions, then you will have to take time to learn the subject matter.

For Article 3 ask yourself: What is a negotiable instrument? What are the types of negotiable instruments? What are the requirements of the instrument? What are the demands for payment and to whom?

For Article 9, What is the scope of Article 9? How do you create a secured interest? What is an attachment? How do you perfect the attachment? Who gets priority?
