Was the Multistate More Difficult this July?

I have had many of my students tell me this weekend that the MBE was “insanely” difficult. Do you agree? Please give us your comments. We’ll post our views in the next couple of days.

  2. Ridiculous. Studied for over a month, nearly 10+ hours a day, took Barbri and ALWAYS did very well on the questions/goals, practice tests, etc. Thought the FL section was fair - MBE was ridiculous. Don't doubt I'll be back in Feb.

  4. I didn't think the MBE questions were "insanely difficult." I did Kaplan PMBR and felt prepared for the MBE precisely because the Kaplan questions were far more difficult and forced you to learn the law. Knowing the law is always better than knowing fact patterns; and I think the examiners are realizing that many students only study the latter.

I hope to survive the new few weeks till the results come in (and hopefully pass). I keep dreaming of the questions and wake up with a sinking feeling that I failed. :( I'm sure I'm not alone in that boat.

  5. I thought MBE was fair, felt good on about 55-60%, good enough. Florida m/c was more difficult IMO

  6. I thought the MBE was very difficult. There were question types that had never been written. The strategy of first reading the call of the question was useless for at least a third of the questions. However, there were some happy times. Two best answer choices of the day:

    1. Dumper's Rule
    2. Attenuate the taint.

The sad thing is, I picked the taint.

  8. I was very surprised at how difficult the MBE was. I had been running averages of around 85% on Barbri's practice tests and went in feeling pretty confident. Can you spell gobsmacked? I feel like I pure guessed at 40% of the damn questions. What gives?

  10. I took (and passed) the July 2009 Florida bar exam. I likewise thought the MBE was a lot harder than the practice tests I had been doing.

  11. It was insanely difficult. I did at least 4000 MBE questions between BarBri and PMBR, did the 2006 200 released MBE questions from the NCBEX website, and studied 12-15 hours a day since April. I felt like everyone above me did.

  12. I used PMBR and I can honestly say that I thought the MBE was easy. PMBR prepared me very well. I did think the AM was more difficult than the PM.

  13. I failed the February 2010 FL bar exam by 4 points and comparing the July 2010 FL bar exam to February, I didn't think the MBE was more difficult than the Feb. exam. They were equally challenging. However the FL mc questions were definitely more difficult in July. I took both Barbri and PMBR classes and studied 10 - 12 hours per day in February and about 6 - 8 hours per day in July (working full-time). I felt much better prepared for the July exam, but was surprised to see so many Q's about Limited Liability Companies on the FL mc Q's. Neither Barbri or PMBR focus much on LLC's so that was not expected. The essays weren't too bad, but the Real Property Q was difficult.

  14. I thought the questions were fair. If you knew the law well enough you could eliminate at least 2 wrong answers. I thought the first half was fairly simple...and the second half a little more difficult, but not hard.
