  1. I was wondering if one of the professors from this website could talk about why the MBE all of a sudden got insanely difficult throughout the nation. I spent about 12-15 hours a day for 4 months, did over 4000 MBE questions (including the 2006 released NCBEX questions), and thought the MBE was very difficult compared to any PMBR or Barbri questions. The MBE is usually my best subject but it was pretty difficult this year. Thank you.

  2. I have taken and passed other State Bar exams. I sat for the most recent July FL Bar Exam. Importantly, the July 2010 MBE questions were the easiest and most straight forward questions I ever saw. This also could be b/c I was using PMBR questions from 2007. I suspect the Bar Examiners shift around the format of the questions. The material represented on the MBE was extremely close to those 2007/2008 PMBR questions. If PMBR changed their format to represent different exam questions - they were not representative of the most recent MBE.

Also, if you do 4000 MBE practice questions you probably were not focusing on the law, rather memorizing fact patterns. I assume you noticed that PMBR repeats many of the same questions. This is a common error for students using commercial Bar review courses. Again, another reason not to waste 3 hrs a day with those stupid Barbri lectures. My best advice - buy the used books on craigslist and study the material alone or with a dedicated friend.

  3. I agree with the poster above. While I haven't the slightest clue how I will do, and still think I could have bombed it, I thought the MBE was relatively straight forward. Finally, the NCBE has turned the test into what it truly should be-a test of how well one knows the law. Super tricky questions are pretty much gone. I took Kaplan/PMBR and thought those questions prepared me well. I did some Barbri questions and thought they were overly tricky- in the old style. From what I heard, many Barbri students were extremely dissapointed in their preparation for the MBE- so there may be a pretty crazy scale/curve on this exam.
