The overall pass rate for New York for the July 2012 bar exam was 69%, with first time takers passing at a 78% rate and with NY schools passing at a 86% rate for first time takers. Non-New York law students passed at 84%. Foreign educated lawyers passed at a first time rate of 46%, and all foreign educated lawyers passed at a 37% rate.

The questions we’ve been asked more frequently is “what should I do if I was unsuccessful on the New York Bar Exam?” First, let the shock of failing the bar subside with a few days of reflection. Get right back up and say, “I will pass in February 2014.”

Hard work and having a study plan and study strategy will pay off. Say to yourself, “I will be a lawyer.”
