The February 2013 Bar Exam: Understanding the MBE Test

If you understand the monster of the MBE, then you should be able to slay the MBE. The MBE is a reading comprehension test. You have to understand and grasp the fact pattern. The MBE is also a fine line distinction test. You have to know the ins and outs of the law in order to spot the right answer.

This is not a memorization type of test. Although you have to memorize the black letter law, you must learn to apply the law to the fact pattern. For obvious reasons, this is the most difficult part of the MBE – learning how to read the fact pattern. This is the logical and critical reasoning aspect of the exam.

You will be given a fact pattern, a call of the question and 4 different answers. You must absorb all of this and pick the right answer all within 1.8 minutes. It is a difficult endeavor to master.

We will take each part of the MBE test and discuss them in depth.
