ReplyDeleteHope you had success! It defeated me the 2nd time around :(
Surprised results were so high considering the difficulty of the essays this exam
ReplyDeleteThe results were relatively high. I'd have to agree.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great post for those who did not pass:
ReplyDeleteIf, God forbid, you do not pass the bar exam, give yourself at least two weeks to do nothing but relax, absorb it all, cry, get it all out, and then get back to work. I worked a full-time job my second time around, did not take another study course (which I didn't find very helpful anyway) and made out a study schedule that I stuck to religiously. Having taken the bar exam once already, I knew what my weaknesses were and what to focus on. For example, I ran out of time the 1st time with about 18 questions left that I just bubbled in last minute. So I had to work on my timing. I also analyzed which subjects I scored the lowest points in and studied those Q's and did practice Q's in those subjects until I was consistently scoring 70% or better. Everyday I did at least 35-50 MBE Q's and wrote one or two essays (untimed). I downloaded the practice essays and answers from the floridabar website and just read the model answers. As I got close to the retake date (about one month before) , I took 3 practice MBE exams under timed conditions and went back over the FL MC Q's and essays at least twice for each subject. I always read the explanations for every question I did, whether I got it right or wrong, which reinforced my knowledge of the law for both the essays and the MBE and MC Q's.
So, anyway, good luck to everyone tomorrow and keep the faith. To those of you who pass, welcome to the practice. And to those who fail, no matter what happens, DON'T GIVE UP.
