Grading is proceeding for the New York July 2021 bar examination. The Board expects to release the results of the July 2021 bar examination by no later than November 10, 2021.

The February 2022 administration of the New York Bar Examination will be a paper-based and in-person examination administered on February 22-23, 2022. There will be no remote option. The Board will have an optional laptop program permitting candidates who timely register for it to type their answers to the essay questions.

Effective July 2022, Pennsylvania and Michigan will administer the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). We have been talking to students who want to take the UBE now in another jurisdiction and waive into Pennsylvania and Michigan in July or want to wait and take our extended program for the UBE for the July bar exam.

The UBE consists of the MBE Exam, two MPTs, and six 30 minute essays.

As of now, neither Pennsylvania or Michigan has announced what their passing scores will be.

Texas Bar Exam Statistics Released, Repeat Takers Low Pass Rate Show the Need for Bar Professors’ UBE Tutorials and the Ultimate UBE Books

The Texas bar exam statistics have been released. The repeat taker rate was extremely low. For all of the Texas schools, the repeat taker pass rate was 24% and the overall pass rate for repeat takers was 21%.  That means that approximately 80% of the repeat takers failed the Texas bar exam. This is line with other UBE states and the low pass rate for repeat takers.

 Let’s look at these statistics for repeat takers for the Texas law schools:

Baylor:  0% (only 2 examinees)

SMU: 46%

STCL Houston: 33%

St. Mary’s:   27.5%

Texas A&M:  27%

Texas Tech:  67%

TSU:  17%

U of Houston: 8%

U of North Texas: 4.5%

U of Texas:  37.5%

It should be noted that TSU had the worst pass rate for first time takers at 54% and only a 17% pass rate for repeat takers.  The number of repeat takers was the most out of any Texas law school sitting for the Texas bar exam at 86 applicants - with 71 of those applicants failing the bar exam. The overall pass rate for TSU was a shockingly low 39%. Unfortunately, these numbers have become too common for TSU and its students.  When is TSU going to get UBE help for their students?
