The New York Board of Law Examiners have
announced their fourth and final application filing period.
A fourth application filing period will be open to a limited number of foreign-educated applicants beginning at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. The eligibility requirements are foreign-educated applicants who graduated with an LL.M. degree from ABA-approved law school in the United States in 2019, or obtained their first degree in law from a common law country in 2019, and who previously took the New York bar examination no more one time in either July 2019 or February 2020. The application filing deadline is 11:59 PM Eastern Time on December 30, 2020.
The application will not be re-opened for any additional groups of applicants except for applicants who were unsuccessful on the October 2020 Remote Bar Examination.
Based on the NY Bole statements, it appears that repeat foreign educated students are again ineligible to sit for the New York bar exam.
