California’s bar exam results have been released. Overall, the first time taker rate was 56%, but the repeat pass rate was a very low 17%. 33% of bar applicants were repeat takers.
No matter which category your school fell under, the repeat pass rate was appalling. For California ABA schools, the repeat rate was: 23%; For Out of State ABA schools, the repeat rate was 20%, For CA Accredited, not ABA, the repeat rate was 9%. For Unaccredited, fixed facility schools the repeat rate: 5%; for Unaccredited, correspondence schools the repeat rate was 7%, for Unaccredited distance learning schools, the repeat rate was 9%
The LLM pass rates have yet to be reported, but judging from how our foreign educated attorneys fail in New York and by looking at the current statistics coming out of California, the pass rate was abysmal.
