My students tell me that the New York essays subjects were: Contracts and Ethics, Wills and Trusts, Torts, Criminal Law and Evidence; Corporations and Family Law.
My students tell me that the contracts and ethics questions concerned formation, SOFs, revocation and the requisite professional responsibility issue. The corporations and family law question had issues of the director’s duty of loyalty, the business judgment rule, a separation agreement and modification of child support payments. The criminal law and evidence issues concerned second degree murder, attempt, double jeopardy, dying declaration and the attorney client privilege. The torts essay was negligence, indemnification and contribution and joint and several liability. The wills and trusts question concerned issues of right of election, incorporation and rule against perpetuity.
For those in New York, how did you do and what were the issues you saw?
